Oh, it's a sunset all right. The air is just too misty to see the full intensity of the sun. The muted light makes for a very pretty sea.
That cloud near the top right hand corner of the picture is just a little bit too dark around the center to be real. Not enough texture in that cloud. And the sand has almost no texture at all in this picture; not enough light in the scene to see it I guess. If it weren't for those two issues, this would be an awesome image. Dang you Terragen; dang you.
